JSON

Format and validate JSON.

Paste JSON, check its syntax and copy a readable or compact version. Your text stays in this browser tab.

What this tool checks

Use double quotes for object keys and strings. Comments, trailing commas, undefined and NaN are not JSON. A valid JSON value may also be a number, string, boolean or null.

Formatting preserves number literals, string escapes, key order and duplicate keys. It does not convert your values to JavaScript numbers. Duplicate keys can still be interpreted differently by other software.

This checks syntax, not a JSON Schema or application rules. The limits are 500,000 UTF-16 code units and 100 nested containers. No input is uploaded, stored or included in a URL. Formatted output is limited to 2,000,000 characters.

JSON standard: RFC 8259
